Troubleshooting
Before requesting service, please refer to the chart below for possible solutions:
Symptoms: No power
Possible Cause:
- Power failure.
- Line voltage too low.
- Unit is unplugged or not completely plugged in.
- Unit is off.
- Batteries in remote are weak or dead.
- EMERGENCY/REMOTE switch is not set to REMOTE.
Possible Solutions:
- Restore the power.
- Contact electrician to install new outlet.
- Insert plug all the way.
- Turn unit on.
- Replace remote’s batteries.
- Slide EMERGENCY/REMOTE to REMOTE.
Symptoms: The compressor does not turn on. (no cool air)
Possible Cause:
- When the unit is first plugged in and turned on, the compressor will delay turn on for 3 minutes.
- If the unit is turned off and then immediately back on, the compressor will delay for 3 minutes.
- The air filter(s) is dirty or clogged.
- Unit is located near a heat source (heater, stove, etc.)
- A door or window is open.
- There is an obstacle in front of intake or indoor unit.
- Thermostat is set too high.
Possible Solutions:
- Wait 3 minutes for the unit to operate.
- Wait 3 minutes for the unit to operate.
- Clean or replace filter(s).
- When locating unit for the first time,make sure it is in a desirable location.
- Shut door or window.
- Remove obstacle.
- Set thermostat lower.
Symptoms: Strange sounds occur
Possible Cause: During operation, especially after turning it on or off, refrigerant flows inside the unit.
Possible Solutions: This is normal.
Symptoms: Strange smells occur.
Possible Cause: The fan is bringing out the smells of the carpet, walls, etc.
Possible Solutions: The smell should go away shortly.
Symptoms: No remote operation.
Possible Cause:
- Batteries are weak, dead or inserted improperly.
- Remote is out of range.
- Remote not aimed at sensor.
- There is an obstruction between unit and remote.
Possible Solutions:
- Replace batteries.
- Move closer to unit.
- Aim remote at sensor.
- Remove obstruction.
