Symptoms: No power

Possible Cause:

  1. Power failure.
  2. Line voltage too low.
  3. Unit is unplugged or not completely plugged in.
  4. Unit is off.
  5. Batteries in remote are weak or dead.
  6. EMERGENCY/REMOTE switch is not set to REMOTE.

Possible Solutions:

  1. Restore the power.
  2. Contact electrician to install new outlet.
  3. Insert plug all the way.
  4. Turn unit on.
  5. Replace remote’s batteries.
  6. Slide EMERGENCY/REMOTE to REMOTE.

Symptoms: The compressor does not turn on. (no cool air)

Possible Cause:

  1. When the unit is first plugged in and turned on, the compressor will delay turn on for 3 minutes.
  2. If the unit is turned off and then immediately back on, the compressor will delay for 3 minutes.
  3. The air filter(s) is dirty or clogged.
  4. Unit is located near a heat source (heater, stove, etc.)
  5. A door or window is open.
  6. There is an obstacle in front of intake or indoor unit.
  7. Thermostat is set too high.

Possible Solutions:

  1. Wait 3 minutes for the unit to operate.
  2. Wait 3 minutes for the unit to operate.
  3. Clean or replace filter(s).
  4. When locating unit for the first time,make sure it is in a desirable location.
  5. Shut door or window.
  6. Remove obstacle.
  7. Set thermostat lower.

Symptoms: Strange sounds occur

Possible Cause: During operation, especially after turning it on or off, refrigerant flows inside the unit.

Possible Solutions: This is normal.

Symptoms: Strange smells occur.

Possible Cause: The fan is bringing out the smells of the carpet, walls, etc.

Possible Solutions: The smell should go away shortly.

Symptoms: No remote operation.

Possible Cause:

  1. Batteries are weak, dead or inserted improperly.
  2. Remote is out of range.
  3. Remote not aimed at sensor.
  4. There is an obstruction between unit and remote.

Possible Solutions:

  1. Replace batteries.
  2. Move closer to unit.
  3. Aim remote at sensor.
  4. Remove obstruction.
